Common questions
NoteCurrent can't hear anything
Check that your browser has permission to use the microphone. Most browsers show a microphone or lock icon in the address bar. Select it and allow microphone access, then reload the page.
On a phone, also check the system settings: your browser app needs microphone permission too. Make sure no other app is using the microphone at the same time.
The key keeps changing or the strength is low
Give it a few more seconds of music. A short phrase or a single chord can fit several keys, and the reading settles as it hears more.
Move closer to the source and cut background noise if you can. Songs that change key partway through, or that stay on very few notes, can also give a weaker reading.
What is the relative key?
Every major key has a relative minor that uses exactly the same notes, and vice versa. C major and A minor are one example. Music in one can often sound like the other, so NoteCurrent shows both.
Is my audio recorded or uploaded?
No. Audio is processed on your device and is never uploaded or stored. There's no account and no analytics. See the privacy policy for details.
Do I need to install anything?
